We accept cash and check donations that can be dropped off at the Mar Vista Library reference desk
Please make checks payable to The Friends of Mar Vista Library
If you’d like a receipt for your cash or check donation, please email friendsofmarvistalibrary@gmail.com with your name and a photo confirmation of your donation amount.
In-Kind Donations (Books and Media)
Please drop your in-kind donations off at the Mar Vista Library reference desk
We ACCEPT gently used:
- Hard cover, paperback and mass market adult books
- Children’s books
- Graphic novels
- Instructional books (e.g. cookbooks, music books, language books)
- DVDs & CDs in their original cases
We DO NOT accept:
- Books in poor condition (e.g. ripped, missing pages, marked up, etc.)
- Outdated travel guides, magazines
- Textbooks, Encyclopedia
- VHS, Cassette Tapes
Volunteer
Be a part of the Friends of Mar Vista Library! We have many opportunities to fit your availability and skills, including:
- Book sales (volunteers get early access to book sales)
- Communications and social media
- Community advocacy
- Facilitation ongoing programs and events

Note: Volunteers for the Friends of the Mar Vista Library do not conduct activities for Mar Vista Public Library; however, hours can be logged as part of the LA Public Library volunteer system

Friends at Large are added to the FoMVL mailing list to be notified of news and upcoming events and are welcome to attend the monthly Board Meetings.
